Week 8

Dear Moses children and families

Welcome to week 8!

This week in year 1 I would like you to think about the weather and our senses! There are some poems for you to read together with your families (powerpoint) and a  weather diary to complete.

I have attached some templates for making shadow puppets! I would love to see some photos of how you get on with these. If the sun disappears perhaps you could try it with a torch instead?

A big well done to everyone that has been accessing Mathletics and Times Table Rock Stars last week - i have been so impressed with points you have earned for our class and the improvements you have shown in your recall of times tables. We are going to further consolidate that this week with activities I have set in the home learning intentions.

I have found a new game also that i think the children would all love practising their maths - Karate Kids Maths! Focus on the multiplication and division it is very visual and will really help with consolidation of what the children have been learning !

There is a great science experiment attached for this week which ties in with our work on floating and sinking. I would love to have some videos sent to me of how your raisins get on dancing!

Lots of other fun learning ideas attached- please look at the play dough attachment.  I have also added the thrive activities for young children. Both of these attachments  with activities would be useful to look at if your child is feeling anxious or worried.

I look forward to hearing from you all via home learning email or by tweeting @StJosSudbury.

Take care and best wishes to you all

Mrs Ponsford
