Week 10 - 01/06/20

Welcome to week 10!!!

We hope that you all had a wonderful, restful, healthy half term and that you managed to get out and enjoy the gorgeous weather!

It was very quiet last week (rightly so) but we are ready and raring for the second half of the Summer term!!!!  We are so looking forward to seeing the work you have completed and send to us using the email homelearning@st-edmunds.suffolk.sch.uk

We can't wait to share your success with you.

We know we've said it every week, but we really are so proud of you for continuing to move your learning on. We are so impressed at the work that's been sent in!!!

Mathletics activities have been set for the week and new activities will be uploaded each Monday.  Timestable Rockstars is also there to use.  Remember to complete a sound check every two weeks, we are logging on to see how you're all doing!

To help keep your Maths skills sharp and ensure that you're not missing out on any learning that you would be enjoying if school was open as normal, please go to: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/  there is a lesson there for each day.  There is still a video to watch to help explain and then you can complete the activities, by pausing the video and using pen and paper to solve the calculations.  The printable activities are no longer accessible. https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom also have some great amths resources and daily lessons linked to the topic we're covering - see home learning intentions.

White Rose have now collaborated with BBC Bitesize and last week’s Maths lessons and White Rose Maths lessons were really useful so please continue with these, as they most definitely support the learning your child would have been doing in class.  We’d like to recommend that these White Rose lessons and or BBC Bite size are completed to keep your child’s maths learning exactly where it should be.

We have also used https://nrich.maths.org/14600 and  https://nrich.maths.org/mathsfair to help develop our mathematical thinking and problem solving.  Please do look and have a go!

Accelerated Reader is able to be accessed using the following link: https://ukhosted100.renlearn.co.uk/2066971/  let's get Year 3's word count through the roof this term!

BBC bite size are now producing daily lessons in most subjects.  They have handy videos to watch to help!  Please see the home learning intentions to see which will link to our learning.

Young Voices at Home -

Young Voices have launched a project to encourage teachers, parents and children to sing together. Simply click on the link to register for free https://www.youngvoices.co.uk/powerinme  You will then be sent details of the 'Power in Me' song and all the learning materials you need. Learn the song and then join in with a special online broadcast on 2nd June! There are also details of a #PowerinMe Singing Challenge. This is a great opportunity to sing as a family and have some fun. Happy singing!

Have a look below at the work that has been suggested for this week.

Enjoy your learning and we look forward to seeing it being sent in to homelearning@st-edmunds.suffolk.sch.uk.

Take care of each other, enjoy being together, it may be getting harder to do this after all these weeks, but we know you can do it!

If you need anything at all please don't hesitate to contact us through school, either at homelearning@st-edmunds.suffolk.sch.uk or through the office and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible!

Thinking of you all, in our prayers as always.

Mrs Jackson, Miss Hamilton, Mrs Harris and Mrs LeMoel.
